We're short-term rental hosts ourselves, and Awaywell grew out of using an AI coworker to help cover overnight guest operations in our own rental. After seeing how much routine hosting work could be handled without constantly being on call, we decided to test the same model for other independent hosts.

Is Awaywell a property manager?
No. Awaywell focuses on digital hosting operations. Hosts remain responsible for their property, physical operations, local requirements and decisions that require owner involvement.
Does Awaywell use AI?
Yes. Awaywell uses AI and automation as part of delivering the service, combined with property-specific instructions and escalation rules. We sell the service and outcome rather than access to an AI tool.
Will Awaywell make decisions without me?
Only within the policies and instructions established during onboarding. Situations outside those boundaries should be escalated.
How does Awaywell access my Airbnb?
During the beta, participating hosts may add the Awaywell operating account as an Airbnb co-host with appropriate permissions. Permissions and setup are reviewed together during onboarding, so you always know what access has been granted. Awaywell is an independent service and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Airbnb.
Can I start with one property?
Yes. In fact, that's how we recommend testing Awaywell.
What happens in an emergency?
Emergencies and safety-related situations are escalated according to the host's onboarding instructions. Awaywell is not an emergency response service.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Founding Host plans are month-to-month.
